LOS ANGELES COUNTY —A popular national clothing chain with more than 450 stores is planning to close after a quarter-century in business, including two shops in the South Bay.
From jewelry to bridal and in-season clothing, the mall-based boutique chain Francesca’s is liquidating its inventory, meaning shoppers can expect close-out sales to start soon.
“We are liquidating our inventory and closing soon,” a Francesca’s customer service representative told Women’s Wear Daily.
The Francesca’s closing in the South Bay are located at:
Del Amo Fashion Center: 3525 W Carson St #175, TorranceManhattan Village: 3200 N Sepulveda Blvd D-10, Manhattan Beach
Founded in 1999, Houston-based Francesca’s opened stores in 45 states, employing more than 3,400 people.
But the news of the closing follows a 2020 bankruptcy filing. At the time, Francesca’s had about 700 stores and announced 140 locations would close, USA Today reported.
Francesca’s has not publicly confirmed the closing. However, its online store is advertising sales of 20 percent off.
