While the results between rounds 1 and 2 in the 2026 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship Series aren’t as divergent as we have seen in the past, we’re still left with some tea leaf divining to come up with accurate predictions for round 3 of RMFantasySX play. Four riders have been on the podium, two in both rounds. Seven riders have been in the top five, three of them repeats. So, that’s what we’re looking at for Anaheim 2. Time to RMFantasySX players to dig in.

Eli Tomac is the top pick to win. The veteran two-time 450SX champion has gotten out of the gate with a pair of victories. Until his performances prove otherwise, Tomac is the man to pick to win, and that includes at the return to Anaheim Stadium.

We can consider Hunter Lawrence for real in Supercross. With a P4 in the opener and a P2 ride in round 2 that threatened a victory, Lawrence is on the move. If you like to take a little risk, pick Lawrence to win. Although Lawrence is ready to move to the top position of the podium, he will have to go through Tomac to get that. A2 could be Lawrence’s breakthrough win. However, I have him down for P2 until Tomac proves beatable.

Chase Sexton is moving fast in the right direction. After a ragged A1 that left him in P8 at the checkers, Sexton has begun to right the ship with a P4 at San Diego. Given that he started in P12, that’s impressive and tells you his speed is there. Sexton has two bad starts. If he can avoid getting far behind the leaders on the opening lap, he’s a threat to win. I’ll play it safe and put Sexton on the podium in P3.

Ken Roczen has two podiums in two rounds, but that run will likely be disturbed at A2. While he dominated everyone not named Tomac at A1, normal service resumed at San Diego. At Snapdragon Stadium, Roczen faded from P1 on lap 15 to his finishing position of P3 on lap 18 (of 24). Roczen is a solid top-five pick, and I have him in P4.

With two P6s after terrible starts, Justin Cooper is poised to move into the top five. The other three top-five finishers this year—Jason Anderson, Jorge Prado, and Joey Savatgy—finished outside of the top 10 at the other race. Cooper’s consistency in the face of adversity—P9 on lap 1 at A1 and P13 on lap 1 at San Diego—makes him the best bet for P5 at A2. Like Sexton, Cooper needs a decent start.

Jason Anderson.

The Wild Card is P12, so there’s going to be a lot of luck involved. The riders who have finished no more than one spot off P12 in either race are Anderson, Prado, and Savatgy, along with Christian Craig, RJ Hampshire, and Colt Nichols. With a list of six, that tells you no rider has finished in P11-13 at both rounds, which makes the choice hard. You can throw out the top-five finishing trio, so that cuts the list in half. Hampshire (18-12) has been less consistent than Craig (11-15) and Nichols (12-16). Craig straddles P12 the best, so he gets the nod, though any of those three riders are reasonable picks.
