On Nov. 28, 2025, CPD responded to a residence in the 2000 block of England Street for a report of vandalism. The victim provided video footage showing two males, one
with a mask, walking up to their home, then removing and damaging a mounted “pride” flag.

While taking the report, officers learned of an identical incident that happened at a neighbor’s
house two nights before. Despite home surveillance footage, the identities of the suspects were not detected at that time.
In January, CPD said it received five additional calls for service in the same neighborhood, for the same crime. Given the frequency and nature of the incidents, an investigation was opened.
Subsequently, the suspects were identified as three juveniles. They were caught and cited for offenses related to property, civil rights, and illegal mask wearing. Additional charges have been sent to two other juveniles who were allegedly present during the crime.
