Candidates must show an “understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse socio-economic, racial, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds, diverse abilities, gender, gender identity and expression, and sexual orientation of Town staff and community served,” the posting says.

The job sparked anger and confusion on social media after it was posted on the popular Libs of TikTok account.
“We had a family home there since 1976 and it was a wonderful town,” one person wrote on X. “What is the problem that needs fixed with DEI initiatives?”
“This is why everyone in Lake Tahoe tries to live on the Nevada side,” another added.
