The closure, like we said, will last through 6 o’clock this evening to get around it, Caltrans recommends heading on to Westbound 50 and taking the 10th Street exit. Then take Riverside to X Street to get around onto eastbound 50. Now join me in studio right now. This is 80 at West Capital moving so beautifully this morning, really almost nothing to speak of on our roadways, which is fantastic, *** great way to start our week. Sacramento all the way up to Auburn, almost scot-free. We have *** little bit of blips on the radar, but not because there are any actual issues out there at this point. If we shoot it down 5 and 99. We’ve got *** warm day ahead, above normal temperatures continue to persist after the weekend of warmth, and we have that little bit of *** North breeze around for most of you, subtle breeze today, but *** little stronger if you’re along and west of I-5 corridor. Current temperatures spread, cool spots Doton down to 52. Sacramento, Yuba City, and Modesto waking up to 57. We’re down in the mid-50s at Plasterville Airport to 59 in Auburn, and 28 currently waking up in Chucky. That’s quite the notch down by about 5 degrees in the Chucky area. We’re 22 degrees cooler in South Lake Tahoe, but elsewhere where you see more of that north breeze which is coming through here, areas of long and west of I-5, *** little warmer today. 14 degree jump there. Fairfield. There’s that north wind circulating at 16 MPH at Travis Air Force Base. North wind coming through Sacramento at 5. So today’s temperature is very similar to yesterday. Expect upper 70s to low 80s here in the valley. We’re in the lower to mid 80s today in the foothills with lower to mid-60s in the Sierra. Elk Grove police are investigating *** deadly crash that shut down *** portion of Elk Grove Boulevard. And this happened last night along Elk Grove Boulevard between Shore Lake and Waterfowl Drive. Elk Grove Boulevard had to shut down in both directions for that investigation. Authorities say that it was *** solo vehicle crash. One person died. At this point, not really clear what happened right before the crash or whether drugs or alcohol were *** factor. We’ll share any new information on air and online. Sacramento County deputies are investigating after they say *** man was killed at *** Jack in the Box. This happened yesterday at around noon at the Jack in the Box on Marconi Avenue. Deputies say two men got into *** fight and at some 0.1 of them became unresponsive. He was taken to the hospital and later died. The other man was detained, questioned, and then released. Anyone who saw What happened or has any information is urged to contact the Sato County Sheriff’s Office. Meanwhile, *** Davis bomb scare turned out to be *** false alarm. Police had to shut down the area of 5th and C Streets for *** suspected bomb near Central Park at around 6 o’clock last night, but they were able to figure out there was really nothing to worry about. All streets in nearby areas did reopen. In Vallejo’s Sacramento County deputies has helped police arrest *** suspect in an attempted murder case this after Vallejo police say *** woman was shot and wounded last Thursday on Forest Ridge Drive. They identified the suspect as 34 year old DeShawn Pollard from Stockton. Learned he was possibly in the Sacramento area and quickly alerted Sacramento County deputies of his location at around 8:30 Saturday night. Deputies spotted Pollard driving on Laon Drive after he led them on *** chase. Deputies arrested him and booked him into the county jail. Well, Doug Martin, *** former All-pro running back with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, has died at the age of 36 years old. Martin was born in Oakland and then played high school football for Saint Mary’s in Stockton, and he did finish his career with 5,356 yards, rushing and then 30 touchdowns in 6 seasons with the Buccaneers, one with the Raiders. His family told Fox Sports that at this point his cause of death is unconfirmed. Kaiser Permanente is welcoming back about 30,000 employees after *** 5 day strike even though there is still no contract agreement. The company says normal operations are resuming, and negotiators will be back on the table later this week to tackle mainly wages. The union is pushing for ***. 25% raise over four years along with more staffing. Kaiser has countered with *** contract offer that includes *** 21.5% base pay increase over 4 years plus enhanced medical plans and retiree benefits. The nation saw one of the largest single day demonstrations in US history, and nearly 7 million Americans gathered in more than 2700 cities and towns across 50 states for the No Kings Day of Peaceful action. You’re looking at video now from protesters in San Francisco literally spelling out *** message. Hundreds of people formed *** human banner out on Ocean Beach and spelled out No kings, along with the message yes on 50. Thousands of people packed the west steps of the Capitol with the same message for Washington. No Sacramento police estimated the crowd to be about 7000 people showing up at the rally’s peak with no arrests being made in Stockton. Police say they saw *** few 100 attendees, also no issues there. Happening today in the capital city, Mayor Kevin McCarty is set to deliver his State of Sacramento address, sharing his vision for the city in 2025 and outlining key initiatives for the future. He’s expected to discuss priorities like economic development, public safety, infrastructure projects, and community programs. That’s happening later this morning at 9. Some lawmakers are predicting that the shutdown could become the longest on record and surpass the 35 days from President Donald Trump’s first term. Unlike previous shutdowns, the federal agency that’s responsible for overseeing the US nuclear stockpile is going to be furloughing most of its staff today. Spokesperson for the Department of Energy says. About 1400 workers at the National Nuclear Security Administration are getting those notices. Fewer than 400 will stay on the job to safeguard the stockpile. The agency has never furloughed federal workers until this point. Sources say despite the disruption in operations, the nuclear stockpile is reliable and there is no national security threat. The House of Representatives has been in recess for roughly one month. Now that recess will continue this week as well. This is an effort to pressure the Senate to pass *** spending bill. Now California Republican Representative Kevin Kiley is speaking out against the move. So I was *** member of the state legislature in the early years of COVID and was very vocal against the decision by Sacramento’s leadership to keep our legislature out of session then. For the same reason, I’m being vocal in opposing Speaker Johnson’s. to keep the House of Representatives out of out of session now. This is about giving the American people the government they’re paying for. It’s about protecting representative government and by the way, it’s about avoiding the next government shutdown as well, because even if this seven week funding resolution became law, we’ve already burned *** few of those weeks. I refuse to allow us to come back and engage in anything until the government’s reopened when the Democrats do the right thing for the people. They’re playing politics and we have to use every ounce of leverage we have to make sure they do the right thing. SACRAMENTO, Calif. —

A car crash was reported Monday morning in the Natomas area of Sacramento, California Highway Patrol logs show.

Emergency medical services were dispatched around 7:51 a.m. to southbound Interstate 5 just south of Arena Boulevard.

It was unclear what caused the crash. Four vehicles were involved. A man with injuries was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, according to dispatch radio communications.
