LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State will be represented by two players at the European Water Polo Championship as senior Emma Seehafer and freshman Ronny Gazit will play for their nations starting this week in Funchal, Portugal.
Seehafer, playing for her home country Germany, will be in Group A with Greece, France and Slovakia. Gazit and Team Israel join Group D with Netherlands, Switzerland and Great Britain.
Seehafer and Gazit helped the Beach to a perfect opening weekend at the Titan Invitational. The senior scored one goal and the freshman added three in her first action for the Beach.
Competition starts on January 25 with Group Stage I and will last until February 5 with the medal games. Games will be livestreamed on Eurovision and more information can be found at europeanaquatics.com.
