Videos circulating on social media are raising concerns about if ICE is increasing its presence in the Central Valley.

Action News reached out to Fresno Police to ask if immigration agents have been present in the city this week and received this response:

“We have not been advised by ICE that they were in town at all this week. Adult Parole conducted a compliance operation yesterday in our city, that did not involve ICE, and we know some of the photos and videos placed on social media were of those Parole agents conducting their operation.”

Clovis Police say they are not aware of any additional stops or ICE operations in the city after Action News confirmed ICE activity near Willow and Shepherd on Monday.

Police said ICE notified the department before that federal agents would be in the area.

No Clovis officers assisted or were requested to assist ICE.

Clovis police say the notification from ICE was standard for any law enforcement activity by another agency in their jurisdiction.

Action News has not confirmed what prompted the activity or if anyone was detained as part of the operation.

Action News has also reached out to ICE requesting information about any operations or unusual activity in Fresno County and will share any responses that are provided.
