The high school football season continued in California last week, as many of the top programs in the Golden State were in action. Plenty of interesting results followed.

Another jam-packed slate is on deck as teams continue their quests for a state title. Below are the top 25 Golden State high school football teams, according to the Massey Ratings, as of Oct. 13.

1. St. John Bosco Braves

The Braves tightened their grip on the top spot of the California high school football rankings after a 48-0 shutdown victory against Orange Lutheran. The St. John Bosco offense is humming, scoring at least 42 points in their last four games. Next on their schedule is an October 17 road game against Santa Margarita Catholic.

2. Mater Dei Monarchs

After going undefeated last season, the Monarchs dropped their second game in 2025. Mater Dei lost a low-scoing 7-6 contest against Santa Margarita Catholic. Their only points was courtesy of a touchdown pass from Ryan Hopkins to Kayden Dixon-Wyatt. The Monarchs can bounce back with a home win against Servite on October 18.

3. Centennial Huskies

The Huskies took the third spot after a dominant 63-14 victory against Vista Murrieta. The Trailblazers surrendered 14 points to Chaminade, the most they’ve given to an opponent in the 2025 California high school football season.
