SAN DIEGO — San Diego State student-athletes combined for a 3.32 grade point average in the 2025 fall semester, highlighting many academic successes in its last fall in the Mountain West.
The 3.32 GPA is the highest fall semester mark since records were kept in 1999 and likely the highest in program history. The only semester that had a higher mark than last fall’s 3.32 GPA was a 3.36 GPA in the spring 2020 semester, when the students were sent home in March because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Â
The women’s tennis team led the way with a 3.71 fall GPA, the highest among any SDSU team in recorded history. The men’s soccer team recorded a 3.35 GPA for the highest of the men’s teams.
In addition to women’s tennis, women’s basketball recorded their highest fall GPA at 3.61, while the baseball team’s 3.30 GPA in the fall was its highest in recorded history.
Three other teams were recognized in the fall for making College Sports Communicators (CSC) All-District for achieving a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher and being a significant contributor (generally participating in at least 66.7 percent (2/3) of its events). The women’s soccer team had five earn all-district in Emma Fuller, Charlie Gerson, Karoline Lundstrom, Victoria Miller and Alexyz Nakamoto, while two each made it from men’s soccer – Josh Lucas and Cianole Nguepissi – and volleyball – Campbell Hague and Taylor Underwood.
