Hawaii Rainbow Warriors Dre Bullock opened the game with a dunk against Bakersfield Roadrunners Pierre Geneste Jr. during a Big West men’s basketball game at the Bankoh Arena, Stan Sheriff Center.

Dre Bullock produced a double-double and reserve guard Isaiah Kerr added 16 points to boost the short-handed basketball team to Thursday night’s 98-71 victory over Cal State Bakersfield at Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center.

A crowd of 2,991 saw the Rainbow Warriors improve to 14-4 overall and 6-2 in the Big West, remaining in a first-place tie with UC Irvine.

The ’Bows were without point guard Aaron Hunkin-Claytor, who suffered an injury to his left foot during Wednesday’s practice. But Bullock soared for the opening dunk en route to a 17-point, 12-rebound performance. Bullock, who transferred from South Dakota last June, also reached the 1,000-point mark in his Division I career.

Kerr, who rotated with Hunter Erickson at the point, amassed a season-high 16 points on 5-for-9 shooting.

The Roadrunners were without injured guards CJ Hardy and Jaden Alexander. Ronald Jessamy, who averaged 6.2 rebounds and had 40 blocks, did not play. Guard Dailin Smith missed his first seven shots and finished 4-for-16 from the field. But he hit 20 of 25 free throws and finished with 28 points.
