40-year-old man struck, killed by train in Shafter: coroner

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Kern County Coroner’s Office identified a 40-year-old man who was struck and killed by a train in the Shafter area on Saturday.

The man was identified as Gerardo Becerra Perez, 40, of Shafter. Perez was found in the area of South Beech and East Los Angeles avenues at Mile Post 904.3, according to coroner officials.

He was found just after 9:30 a.m. BNSF is investigating this incident.
