FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — The Fresno Christian boys’ basketball team stretched its win streak to 16 games Friday night, dispatching Liberty HS of Madera Ranchos, 82-62.

The defending Central Section D-IV champions improved their record to 19-1 this season. The Eagles weren’t the only local high school team hoping to keep the good times rolling.

Over at Clovis East, the Buchanan Bears erased a 15-point deficit in the span of six minutes during the 3rd quarter.

Propelled by a flurry of 3-pointers and anchored by tough defense, the Bears defeated the T-Wolves, 61-49.

Buchanan (21-2 overall) is off to a 5-0 start in the challenging Tri-River Athletic Conference.

Last time the Bears won their first five boys’ basketball games in league play? 2012.

One year after making it to Selland Arena for the Division 1 championship game, Buchanan is once again a title contender.
