Cal Men’s Golf Travels to Tucson, Ariz. for the NIT
TUCSON – The California men’s golf team opens their 2026 spring season this week at the N.I.T. in Tucson, Ariz.
Â
The Golden Bears are one of 13 teams competing in the par 73, 7,262 yard Catalina Course at the Omni Tucson National Resort. Competition begins Monday with the first 36 holes before the final round on Tuesday.
Â
The Bears will look to bounce back after an underwhelming performance at the Preserve Golf Club Collegiate, where they placed at the bottom of the field. Individually, freshman Trevor Cox led the Bears, finishing with a two-under-par 214, good for 25th place in the tournament. Senior Daniel Heo shot a one-under par 214, after shooting a three-under-par 69 in the final round to jump up to a 29th place finish.
Â
This is the first time in recent history the Bears have competed at the N.I.T. with the last time coming in March of 2015, where the Bears won the tournament for the second straight year by an astounding 15 strokes.
