NOW, TONIGHT, HUNDREDS ACROSS THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA ARE PROTESTING IN SOLIDARITY WITH MINNESOTA. THIS IS VIDEO PROTESTS IN LOS ANGELES, IN SAN FRANCISCO, AND RIGHT HERE IN SACRAMENTO. OUR KCRA THREE REPORTER, ANAHITA JAFARY WENT TO THE JOHN MOSS FEDERAL BUILDING, WHERE PROTESTERS HAVE BEEN CONSISTENTLY CALLING FOR AN END TO FEDERAL IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENT. PEOPLE OUTSIDE OF THE JOHN MOSS FEDERAL BUILDING ARE VISIBLY FRUSTRATED WITH ICE. THIS IS ONE OF MANY ANTI ICE PROTESTS HAPPENING ACROSS THE COUNTRY. SHUT IT DOWN. ICE. GO HOME. FLAGS WAVING, CARS HONKING. AND PEOPLE CHANTING. PEOPLE IN DOWNTOWN SACRAMENTO HAVE A REQUEST. AND IF I HAD ONE GIANT ASK OF THE WHOLE COUNTRY. MY BIGGEST ONE. PERSONALLY, IF WE CAN’T ABOLISH ICE YET, WE NEED TO ABOLISH FOR PROFIT DETENTION CENTERS. USING SIGNS TO GET THE SAME POINT ACROSS. ICE KILLED A U.S. CITIZEN. I FEEL SO HEARTBROKEN THAT WE’VE BEEN SO DIVIDED BY FAKE LINES THAT DIVIDE PIECES OF LAND THAT WE’VE COME TO KILL EACH OTHER. DO YOU THINK THAT THERE’S ANYTHING POSITIVE ABOUT ICE? NO. I BELIEVE THAT ICE HAS NOT FUNCTION CORRECTLY SINCE ITS INCEPTION. NO CHILD SHOULD BE AFRAID TO GO TO SCHOOL.
