FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — The annual Alumni Game for Fresno State baseball took place at Pete Beiden Field on Saturday, when the current team faced former players in an exhibition.
Not everyone was allowed to play.
The Pittsburgh Pirates asked their 2025 draft pick Triston “Murf” Gray to sit out, so he fielded pre-game grounders and hung out in the alumni dugout.
There were more former players from recent Bulldog baseball teams, like Eddie Saldivar and Tommy Hopfe.
There were also alumni using the opportunity to prepare for spring training, such as Clovis HS grad Noah Beal, who will report for the Tampa Bay Rays in a few weeks.
The current Fresno State baseball team actually managed a couple of hits off Beal in the 1st inning – Jett Ruby doubled, and Cayden Munster singled him in.

Still, alumni of all ages were just happy to be back, showing this crop of Bulldogs how much pride and tradition the baseball program has.
