Whether you live with someone or live alone, what do you do in an emergency? On Tuesday, Feb. 10 at 6 p.m. come and listen to American Medical Response (AMR) EMT Max Gonzalez and EMT/Community Outreach Officer Eric Nixon as they discuss what to do before help arrives once you’ve called 911. The talk will be held at La Colonia Community Center, 715 Valley Avenue, Solana Beach.
EMTs Gonzalez and Nixon will discuss what will happen when an ambulance responds to your call and how to make you safe in your home for as long as possible. They will discuss household safety as we age, including reducing fall risks. They will touch on medication management as living safely includes being aware of medication side effects, according to a news release.
The City of Solana Beach is part of County Service Area 17, referred to as CSA 17, to provide emergency medical services. CSA 17 was established in 1969 to offer public ambulance transport to residents, and in 1975 it began delivering paramedic level emergency services within a 73-square-mile district that includes Del Mar, Del Mar Heights and Del Mar Terrace, Solana Beach, Encinitas, Rancho Santa Fe, 4-S Ranch and parts of Elfin Forest.
AMR is the service provider within CSA 17. AMR San Diego’s mission is making a difference by caring for people in need. It is a leading provider of emergency services delivering quality pre-hospital healthcare. Their teams of highly trained and dedicated medical professionals partner with local hospitals, large and small, to ensure patients receive the right level of care when they need it, the news release stated.
This presentation is sponsored by Solana Beach Community Connections. It is free and open to the public.
