FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — Action News was in the neighborhood for the grand re-opening of the BMX program at Woodward Park.

Kids hit the dirt tracks, racing other riders, while enjoying the thrill of competition. Some even got to take home a trophy.

All of this was part of the program’s 17th anniversary.

“Trophies are like if you get first, second, or third, then you’ll get a trophy, but if there’s like four of you guys, only three of you guys get trophies,” says a young racer.

There are weekly races on Thursdays and Sundays, with a practice day on Saturdays.

Each race and practice does have a cost, but the first race for first-time riders is free.
