HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA — One bicyclist was killed and two others injured in a collision Monday in Huntington Beach.
Police were called just after 6:45 a.m. to Pacific Coast Highway and Newland Street for the collision between three cyclists and a vehicle, police said.
One of the bicyclists was pronounced dead at the scene and two others were taken to hospitals to be treated for significant injuries, police said.
A 43-year-old woman from Long Beach, whose name was not immediately released, driving a 2006 Mercedes E-Class car struck the bicyclists, who were in a bike lane, and kept going for about half a mile before stopping, police said. She was arrested on suspicion of hit-and-run, gross vehicular manslaughter and possession of narcotics, police said.
