As a singer, songwriter and keyboardist, Cliff Beach built his career around music, but when the pandemic happened, he found a new creative outlet: writing. This new outlet eventually grew into the “Side Hustle & Flow” book series, which Beach is now completing with the release of its third and final book, “Side Hustle & Flow: The Daily Grind – 365 Days to Shine.”

The book is set to be released on Tuesday, Feb. 3, and is intended for those who struggle to maintain motivation long term, especially after setting New Year’s resolutions. He encourages people to keep “pressing forward,” even when progress feels slow.

“I want them to basically see in my story, their story, that they can do something, even if it’s small, it can still have a lot of impact in their life and their immediate circle,” Beach said.

“The Daily Grind” builds on the ideas from Beach’s first two books. “Side Hustle & Flow: 10 Principles to Live and Lead a More Productive Life,” released in 2022, focused on goal setting and turning ideas into income. His second book, “Side Hustle & Flow: Shape Up!” released last year, documented his personal health journey, during which he lost 50 pounds in five months while working with a dietitian.

The third book takes a different approach. It features 365 short affirmation-style prompts designed to be read in under a minute, each offering a single idea and reflection meant to encourage steady progress.

“It’s all about micro changes, micro shifts,” Beach said.

He explained that many readers want content that feels manageable and easy to return to daily, which led him to condense the ideas from his earlier books into a format that is intentionally “bite-sized and digestible.”

Beach has been making music in Los Angeles for more than 20 years and releases about one album a year. In addition to performing, he speaks publicly and helps musicians and creatives, encouraging them to pursue passion projects alongside their careers. He believes people can sustain themselves through their primary work while also developing “side hustles” that bring fulfillment and purpose.

That mindset partially comes from his upbringing. Beach grew up in the Washington, D.C., area and comes from a family of “Christian Baptist ministers.” He said music and faith played a major role in shaping his outlook, helping him find joy and gratitude through self-expression, values that continue to influence both his music and his writing.

Beach’s earlier books have also received national recognition. “Side Hustle & Flow: 10 Principles to Live and Lead a More Productive Life” was nominated for a World Entertainment Award in the Best Spoken Word Album category. “Side Hustle & Flow: Shape Up!” won a Bronze Anthem Award in late 2025 for its impact on mental health and wellness.

Like grinding coffee beans to keep them fresh, Beach hopes readers treat this third book as part of their morning routine, starting the day with intention and reflection on how to find more joy and passion, even in small ways.

“Mindset is where everything begins and where everything ends,” Beach said. “If you believe you can, you can. If you believe you can’t, you can’t. The ‘can’t’ is coming from a limiting self-belief, and only you can remove that; only you can make changes in your mind, when the mind sees it, then you can make actions toward it.”

The book is available in digital, paperback and audiobook formats, with the audiobook narrated by Beach. It can be purchased on Amazon, Audible and other major retailers beginning Feb. 3.
