The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose six-tenths of a cent Monday to $4.362, one day after increasing three-tenths of a cent.
The average price is three-tenths of a cent more than one week ago, but 9.7 cents less than one month ago and 13.4 cents less than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price has dropped $2.132 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.
A four-day streak of increases to the Orange County average price after it dropped to its lowest amount since June 22, 2021, ended Monday when it was unchanged, remaining at $4.244. It rose 2.1 cents over the past four days, including a half-cent Sunday.
The Orange County average price is 1.4 cents more than one week ago but 9.6 less than one month ago and 19.4 cents lower than one year ago. It has dropped $2.215 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price rose for the fifth time in six days, increasing 1.7 cents to $2.881. It has increased 5.9 cents over the past six days, including two-tenths of a cent Sunday. It rose three consecutive days, was unchanged Saturday and resumed increasing Sunday.
The run of rising prices follows a run of four decreases in five days totaling 2.2 cents
The national average price is 5.6 cents more than one week ago and 3.3 cents higher than one month ago but 24.2 more than one year ago. It has dropped $2.135 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
