West Sacramento police pull body from river, officials say

Officers recovered the body of a person from the river, the West Sacramento Police Department said Monday.The body was inside a vehicle associated with a missing person out of Stockton along the Sacramento River near Riverfront and Garden streets, police said. Officers believe the vehicle went into the river on Jan. 8.Police pulled the body Sunday and said the coroner is working to identify the person. Details were not released on whether the person was an adult or a child, only that he is male.The Stockton Police Department will work with the coroner to confirm the person’s identity and notify next of kin, West Sacramento police said.
