Los Angeles police responded to the Porter Ranch home of actor-producer and former “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Garcelle Beauvais Sunday night after what appears to be a swatting call, the agency told NBC4 Investigates.
Officers arrived at the home northwest of Los Angeles with lights and sirens activated after a caller claimed shots were fired and that an ex-boyfriend was in the home with a shotgun. Officers searched the house and found no evidence of a shooting or crime at the San Fernando Valley residence.
It was not immediately clear whether the 59-year-old “Coming to America” and “NYPD Blue” actor was home at the time.
Swatting involves a prank call to emergency responders that can lead to the dispatch of law enforcement officers.
NBCLA has reached out to a representative of Beauvais’ for comment.
No arrests were reported.
In October, Beauvais appeared on Radio Andy’s Smith Sisters Live and shared details about a swatting response at her beach house over the summer. She said her son and a group of friends had left the residence when law enforcement officers arrived hour later after a bogus report to authorities.
Beauvais rose to fame in the 1990s with roles on “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” and “The Jamie Foxx Show.” She went on to star in “NYPD Blue,” “Chicago Med,” “Power” and a long list of other shows. Her film credits include “The Other Black Girl,” “White House Down,” “Coming to America,” “Flight,” “Spider-Man Homecoming” and more.
The report comes after other high-profile swatting calls in the Los Angeles area, including one in September that drew a response to the Bel Air home of chef Gordon Ramsay. A month earlier, police responded to the San Fernando Valley home of former BET host Terrance Jenkins.
