Woman found shot in the head in central Fresno dies in hospital

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — The woman who was found shot in the head in central Fresno last Thursday has died from her injuries.

On Monday, Fresno Police announced 25-year-old Tamika Hoy’s death after she was found lying in an alleyway on Mayfair Drive and Normal Avenue.

Detectives believe Hoy may have been approached by multiple people before being shot but investigators say they are having trouble with witnesses coming forward.

“We’re still canvassing for video, trying to find a motive for this incident to determine why this happened and who’s responsible,” Lt. Brian Valles with the Fresno Police Department said.
