MONTANA-The Forest Service has announced that it is conducting prescribed burns across Montana, Wyoming and California.
These efforts include pile burning, where firefighters burn leftover brush from forest thinning.
The Bitterroot National Forest shared photos highlighting these efforts, which are strategically timed for winter when wildfire risk is lower.
