A 60-year-old man in a wheelchair who was killed when he was struck by a pickup truck in downtown Los Angeles was identified by county authorities Tuesday.

Curtis Hosea was identified as the victim by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office.

The crash occurred around 2 a.m. Monday at Hill and Fifth streets, according to a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman.

Hosea was crossing Hill Street when he was struck by a Ford F-150 that was northbound on Hill, the spokesman said.

Hosea was pronounced dead at the scene, he said. The driver of the truck stayed at the scene.

The spokesman said Hosea was believed to have been homeless.
