A man convicted last week of the 2022 murders of his father and stepmother in their home near San Francisco’s Bayview Park could spend 80 years in prison after he’s sentenced next month.

Irvin Hernandez Flores, 27, was convicted Thursday of two counts of second-degree murder, along with personal use of a firearm and child abuse, according to the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office.

Hernandez Flores shot the couple at about 2:45 a.m. on Aug. 13, 2022 after breaking into their home on 1100 block of Ingerson Avenue.

When police arrived, they found a 47-year-old man who had been shot five times and died at the scene and a 41-year-old woman who was shot six time and later died at the hospital.

Hernandez Flores’ young sister was at home during the murders, according to prosecutors, who didn’t describe a possible motive for the attack.

“No child should have to witness the murder of her parents like the victim did in this tragic case,” said Assistant District Attorney John Roman.

Hernandez Flores has been held without bail at the San Francisco County Jail since his arrest on the day of the killings.
