SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — From the South Bay to San Francisco, the Super Bowl could pose a traffic nightmare for some trying to get to certain events or destinations.

Some of the road closures are already in place, especially around Levi’s Stadium, where the Super Bowl will be held on Feb. 8.

Here’s a look below at what areas will be impacted by road closures:

From Jan. 30 through Feb. 10 expect significant traffic impacts on major roadways in San Francisco, including Howard Street, 4th Street, and Mission Street.

24-Hour Street Closures: Full vehicle restrictions in high-security zones.Transit & Bicycle Detours: Updated routes for SFMTA (Muni) and cyclists.Local Access Only: Specified lanes for residents and business deliveries.

Santa Clara

Santa Clara has already announced road closures near Levi’s Stadium leading up to the Super Bowl. City officials say the closures will happen in three phases and the first one started on Jan. 5.

Phase 1 (Jan. 5 – Feb. 22)
Stars and Stripes Drive will be closed to public traffic, including the ramp from Tasman Drive and the bike path along the corridor. Shuttles, parking and rideshare pickup/drop-off associated with the Great America Rail Station will be relocated to the east (Tasman East Area) for the duration of the closure.

Phase 2* (Jan. 28 – Feb. 10)
Tasman Drive will close to through traffic between Great America Parkway and Calle Del Sol. Bike and vehicle traffic will be detoured around the closure. The San Tomas Aquino Creek Trail will be closed from Jan. 28-Feb. 10.

Phase 3* (Feb. 8)
Great America Parkway will close between Bunker Hill Lane and Patrick Henry Drive. Other closures will include Old Ironside and Old Glory Lane.
