RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. — Four people have been found dead in a home after reports of shots being fired in Rancho Cordova, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s office said.

Homicide detectives are on scene investigating a shooting along the 5400 block of Mill Water Circle, according to law enforcement.

The sheriff’s office said they received a call Tuesday morning from an individual reporting shots fired in the area of Copper Sunset Way.

The sheriff’s office said they received a second call from someone claiming they had fired shots and were setting up “booby traps” in the area.

Officials said this is an active investigation, and more information will be provided when available.
