Sacramento police respond to possible barricaded gunman, avoid area

(FOX40.COM) — An investigation is underway after reports that a wanted person armed with a gun barricaded themselves inside a residence, according to the Sacramento Police Department.

Around 5:19 p.m., SPD responded to a residence in the 4900 block of 71st Street for reports of an armed suspect.

The circumstances behind the incident are unclear. However, there is a heavy police presence at the scene. According to SPD, an armored vehicle and crisis negotiators have been deployed to help.

At 5:41 p.m., FOX40 cameras saw the suspect being arrested.
