OAKLAND — A person was wounded in a freeway shooting Friday morning, the California Highway Patrol said.

It was the second Oakland freeway shooting in two days.

According to initial reports, Friday’s shooting happened about 6:15 a.m. on the connector from eastbound Interstate 80 to southbound Interstate 880, the CHP said.

The wounded driver was able to pull their vehicle over to the shoulder. They were taken by ambulance to a hospital but their condition was not known.

The shooter and their vehicle were being sought. A motive for the shooting is under investigation.

The roadway was closed while the CHP investigated.
