Building fire in Downtown Fresno leads to investigation

Crews are working to determine the cause of a building fire in Downtown Fresno that started at 12:30 Wednesday morning.

Police arrived at the scene on “F” Street near Kern Street just before fire crews did and caught a man leaving the building.

Crews took on the blaze from the front of the building and quickly knocked down the flames.

Police say the person has been detained for questioning and crews say the building has burned in the past.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
