Council District 1—The City Council considers authorizing a year-long extension of a prohibition against self-storage warehouse spaces larger than 15,000 square feet in the Cornfield Arroyo Seco Specific Plan area. This arose last year in relation to a proposed distribution center in Lincoln Heights. Agenda
East Hollywood—The City Council Government Operations Committee discusses acquiring properties at 1017, 1023 and 1027 Heliotrope Drive, which have been declared nuisances and are considered public safety concerns. The motion also states, “these properties could represent a strategic opportunity for permanent or interim housing, helping to address critical housing needs in the area.” Agenda
Griffith Park—The Zoo Commission meeting includes animal updates, an update from the zoo director, and a presentation on L.A. Zoo Lights. Agenda
Echo Park—The Neighborhood Council Budget & Finance Committee discusses issuing a $1,000 grant to SELAH for weekly events to help unhoused people in Echo Park, and a $1,000 grant to the Logan School for a robotics event. Agenda
Wednesday, Oct. 22
Los Feliz—The City Council considers Historic-Cultural Monument status for the Wong Residence, at 2635 N. Nottingham Ave. The one-story Mid-Century Modern home was built in 1969, and was designed by master architects Conrad Buff and Donald Hensman. Agenda
El Sereno—The LA-32 Neighborhood Council meeting includes committee updates, approving the Garden of the Month winner, and approving funding for refreshments at Veterans Day events. Agenda
