BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Multiple people were injured after a single-vehicle rollover in northeast Bakersfield Sunday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Officers were dispatched to Shadow Hills Drive, near Alfred Harrell Highway and Fairfax Road, for a rollover crash just before 8 p.m. on Sunday.
Investigation showed an 18-year-old man from Bakersfield was driving a 2020 white Toyota Camry on eastbound Alfred Harrell Highway in the #2 lane at 80 mph. The driver lost control of the vehicle and it veered to the westbound lane and rolled down an embankment.
The driver and passengers were all transported to Kern Medical with moderate to major injuries, according to CHP. One of the passengers is reported as in critical condition.
Officials with the highway patrol said there were three 17-year-old girl passengers in the vehicle. The driver cooperated with the investigation
The California Highway Patrol is investigating this crash. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash.
