A Sacramento teen was arrested after allegedly threatening a peer with an unregistered AR-15 during a video call.
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A 17-year-old was arrested Wednesday after allegedly threatening another juvenile during a video call while displaying a firearm, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said the suspect made statements about harming the victim, who believed the threats were credible and contacted law enforcement.Â
Deputies responded to the suspect’s residence and discovered an unregistered AR-15 style assault rifle under the bed, along with a loaded magazine nearby.
The suspect was taken into custody and later booked into the Sacramento County Juvenile Detention Center. The investigation is ongoing.
