FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — A woman was killed after being shot on Thursday in Fresno, police say.

Fresno Police responded to a report of an injured person in the area of Mayfair Boulevard and Normal Avenue at around 2:11 pm.

When officers arrived, they found 25-year-old Tamikia Hoy, who was suffering from a gunshot wound.

She was transported to Community Regional Medical Center, but despite life-saving measures, she was pronounced dead from her injuries.

Homicide detectives believe a disturbance between multiple people occurred before the shooting occurred.
