SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Cornelius Houston, a 35-year-old man from Sacramento, pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm, as announced by U.S. Attorney Eric Grant.
Houston was found with a loaded Glock handgun on August 15, 2025. Due to his prior felony convictions for robbery and drug-related offenses, he is prohibited from having firearms or ammunition.
The Sacramento Police Department led the investigation, with help from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Brad Ng is handling the prosecution.
Houston’s sentencing is set for May 14, 2026, before U.S. District Judge Daniel J. Calabretta. He could face up to 15 years in prison and a $250,000 fine, but the final sentence will be determined by the court based on various factors.
