One man was killed and multiple people were injured the night of Jan. 29 in a six-vehicle crash in the La Jolla area known locally as “The Throat” for its notorious traffic problems.

The crash occurred near La Jolla Parkway and Hidden Valley Road around 8:30 p.m., according to the San Diego Police Department.

Police could not immediately confirm how many people were injured, though Officer Anthony Carrazco told NBC/7 that multiple people were hurt.

Traffic detectives were working at the scene to collect evidence and interview witnesses, the TV station reported.

Police said a Tesla equipped with a video camera was involved in the crash and that they hope footage from it will help in the investigation.
