A 37-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash late Monday that killed a man in Vista, according to sheriff’s officials.
Deputies received a report around 11:30 p.m. that a pedestrian had found an injured man lying on a sidewalk on Sycamore Avenue near Oleander Avenue, Lt. Juan Marquez said in a news release.
Paramedics arrived and found the man suffering from visible facial trauma and serious head injuries, Marquez said.
He was taken to a hospital, where he died Tuesday morning, investigators said. His name was not released pending notification of his family.
On Wednesday, Paul Anthony Fletcher Jr. was arrested by homicide detectives on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and hit and run resulting in death.
No other information on the details leading up to and surrounding the fatal crash were available Friday.
