BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — Following delays due to additional repairs and weather, Highway 166 at the California Aqueduct in Kern County is set to reopen tomorrow, Jan. 31, 2026, announced Caltrans.

Highway 166 will be reopened in both directions at the California Aqueduct between Old River Road and Interstate 5.
The closure since Sept. 29, 2025, involved rehabilitation and seismic retrofitting of the aqueduct bridge.
