A woman was killed after her vehicle crashed into the Sacramento River near Walnut Grove on Friday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol. Officials said the crash happened around 7:30 a.m. near the intersection of Twin Cities and River roads. CHP said the vehicle had been traveling westbound on Twin Cities at an unknown speed when it went through the stop sign at River Road and over an embankment into the river. The driver, the only occupant in the vehicle, was ejected into the water, and rescue crews found her dead.CHP noted that it was foggy in the area at the time, and that may have contributed to the crash.
