There has been another delay in the case of missing South Bay mom May “Maya” Millete.

The mother of three from Chula Vista has been missing for five years now.

And even though her husband, Larry Millete, was arrested nine months after her disappearance, there still hasn’t been justice.

Maya’s body has never been found, but prosecutors say they believe Larry killed Maya as she was trying to get a divorce.

After Larry’s trial was delayed numerous times, jury selection had been scheduled for March.

However, Larry’s defense team argued on Wednesday to get it pushed back again, and the judge agreed. A new trial date has been set for May 11.

Memorial hike marks five years since Maya was seen

Friends, family, and supporters of May “Maya” Millete gathered on Jan. 17 for a memorial hike in honor of the Chula Vista mother of three who disappeared Jan. 7, 2021.

A few hundred people were in Mount San Miguel Park to mark the fifth anniversary of the disappearance.

For the first time, the couple’s children publicly attended an event in connection with her mother. Lara Mae, 16, Maylani, 14, and Lazarus, 9, performed during a memorial service in the park after the prayer hike. The children sang songs their mother had once performed on her YouTube channel.

“When I asked them to sing, to perform for their mom, they didn’t say no,” Maya’s sister Maricris Drouaillet told NBC 7 at the event.

Maricris and her husband, Richard, now have custody of the Millete children. Over the years, the couple has led their entire extended family and the hundreds of friends and volunteers who first came together at Mount San Miguel Park just a couple of days after Maya disappeared.
