(KRON) — “His vehicle went from being loaded with booze to being loaded onto a tow truck headed to car jail.”
Vacaville police said an Oakland man was found to have nearly $3,000 worth of stolen merchandise last Friday after he allegedly walked out of a store with a shopping cart full of unpaid alcohol.
The suspect, identified as Jhoanthan Herreramartinez, 35, was located in front of the store by Vacaville police and quickly detained. A police search of his vehicle upturned a “large amount” of stolen items from two nearby businesses.
“Further investigation showed Mr. Herreramatinez had stolen more than $1,700 worth of merchandise from the first business and nearly $1,100 from the second,” said Vacaville police in a social media post on Thursday.

The recovered products, including luxury bottles of tequila and bulk cases of Corona Extra, Modelo and Michelob ULTRA, were returned to the stores, according to police.
Herreramatinez was booked into the Solano County Jail where he faces several charges, including grand theft and organized retail theft.
