The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose Sunday for the fourth consecutive day, increasing 1.8 cents to $4.417.
The average price has risen 6 cents over the past four days, including 2 cents on both Friday and Saturday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 6.1 cents more than one week ago, but 1.5 cents less than one month ago and 10.5 cents less than one year ago.
The average price has dropped $2.077 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The Orange County average price also rose for the fourth consecutive day, increasing 2.1 cents to $4.329. It has risen 8.6 cents over the past four days, including 2.5 cents Saturday.
The Orange County average price is 8.5 cents more than one week ago and 1.7 cents more than one month ago, but 14.4 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $2.13 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.
A four-day streak of decreases to the national average price totaling 1.8 cents ended Sunday when it was unchanged, remaining at $2.87. It is six-tenths of a cent more than one week ago and 3.7 cents more than one month ago, but 23.2 cents less than one year ago.
The national average price has dropped $2.146 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
“The winter storm that wreaked havoc on most of the nation has led to supply disruptions and pushed up the national average” price, according to the AAA. “Below-freezing temperatures and lingering snow have disrupted some crude production and refinery operations, while gasoline demand increased pre-storm as drivers filled up their tanks ahead of the severe winter weather.”
