Sacramento pedestrian killed by train after walking on railroad tracks, Union Pacific says

A person was hit and killed by a train in Sacramento on Saturday, according to Union Pacific Railroad. Union Pacific said the person was trespassing on the railroad tracks near McKinley Village Way and C Street in East Sacramento around 5 a.m.The train crew was not hurt during the incident but witnessed the person being struck and are being offered support, Union Pacific said. The person who was hit has not yet been identified.
