HAZEL PARK, Mich. – A 51-year-old man from Hazel Park is facing charges after reportedly hitting a man with a hatchet.
The investigation into Robert Narducci started early Thursday morning, Jan. 29, when a man arrived at a hospital emergency room with serious injuries to his face and hand.
The victim told police he and two friends went to a home on Nine Mile Road to pick up a friend. There, Narducci reportedly confronted him over an issue involving his family.
During the conversation, Narducci allegedly grabbed a hatchet and swung it at the victim’s head. The victim suffered serious injuries to his hand while blocking the swing.
The victim and his friend fled from the house to a vehicle, where Narducci reportedly struck him in the face with the hatchet.
The victim, a 31-year-old man from Royal Oak, was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. They are expected to survive.
Police said they executed a search warrant at the home, where they found the hatchet and the victim’s blood.
Narducci was arrested and charged with assault with intent to do great bodily harm. His bond was set at $10,000.
