Downtown cafe the Wild Fox is the lovechild of Spro Coffee Lab and Liholiho Yacht Club — kind of. SPRO owners Liza Otanes and Rich Lee linked with Tsubasa Onozaki to open this itty-bitty coffee shop stuffed with Japanese fare and highly decorated coffees, everything awash in a pleasant earthy green.
Premier, and thoughtful. Flow is straight up as one walks in, grab-and-go items and a collection of ornate cups and coffee drippers on the right. There are lots of seats at the Wild Fox for how small it is. More than that, there’s a suite of coffees for sale, including a house blend roasted by competition barista Frank La’s Be Bright Coffee.
Parking here is a pain. There’s some parking near the Embarcadero and BART stops not far away (a block from the Embarcadero station).
