BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBMA) — A California man was arrested in Birmingham last month in connection with a homicide investigation in California.
The Birmingham Police Department said 43-year-old James Lawrence Petri, of Murrietta, was taken into custody Thursday, January 29 in the 2600 block of Bush Boulevard.
Police said the homicide happened on January 13, 2026, at the Arbors at California Oaks Apartments, located at 24375 Jackson Avenue in Murrietta.
Petri is currently being held in the Jefferson County Jail pending extradition to California.
