FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (FOX26) — Students across several schools in Fresno County walked out in protest of the ICE raids.

Students from Kerman High, Hoover High, Washington High, and Firebaugh High all had students walk out on Monday.

Video shows about 50 kids walking out of Firebaugh High with signs.

Students were seen leaving Hoover High and heading to Fashion Fair Mall.

Fresno Unified officials made sure that the students were safe.

About 50 students were seen leaving Washington High all the way to downtown.

Authorities kept an eye on them to make sure they were safe.

Kerman High had 200 students leaving the school, and they stopped at the Walmart Supercenter.

The Fresno Unified School District released a statement to parents to help encourage students to stay in safe areas should they decide to protest.

The district is concerned that a student may be hit by a car while walking outside of school grounds.
