California Highway Patrol officers Tuesday are investigating a fatal crash that killed one person on the Santa Ana (5) Freeway in Anaheim.
Officers responded at 12:44 a.m. Tuesday to the northbound freeway and Gene Autry Way where a vehicle struck a pedestrian who was standing in the middle lanes of traffic, a CHP spokeswoman told City News Service.
The victim, whose name, age and gender were not immediately known, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The collision closed the northbound freeway until 4:45 a.m. and the cause of the collision is under investigation.
