LONG BEACH, Calif. (KABC) — A large and apparently exploding fire erupted in the backyard of a Long Beach home early Tuesday morning.
Firefighters responded to a backhouse at the property on 67th Way near Long Beach Boulevard around 1:30 a.m. Video from the scene shows sparks flying amongst the flames.
Neighbors said loud popping sounds woke them up.
“We thought it was fireworks… we thought it was fireworks and we looked out the window and we saw that it was on fire. We called 911,” said Irma, a resident in the area.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
